Humans are inherently inclined to resist change. This isn't a personal flaw but rather a survival mechanism inherited from our ancestors. Our brains are designed to cling to comfort and familiarity, which we'll delve into further in the next section.

Picture our ancestors from millennia ago, where survival was their primary focus. Their brains optimized energy usage for essential tasks like finding food and evading danger. This led to the development of neural pathways that automated routine actions, preserving mental resources for critical situations.

During those times, personal growth wasn't a priority; immediate solutions were essential. Today, our brains still resist change, viewing it as a potential threat, even if the change is positive. This disruption of familiar patterns triggers stress responses, making it essential to understand this aspect of human psychology to escape autopilot living.

How to Break Free from Autopilot Mode

Have you ever encountered a phase where progress feels stagnant? This is often referred to as the “OK Plateau.” It's that stage where we've become proficient but comfortable, which can hinder our potential.
