Pursuing a Master's Degree in Creative Writing

Chapter 1: My Journey in Higher Education

As I continue my studies at college, I find myself navigating a challenging yet rewarding path. With just a couple more years ahead, I am on track to earn my master's in education. The anticipation fills me with excitement and joy as I look forward to completing six more classes before graduation.

When I do graduate, I'll be 28 years old—an age that feels both thrilling and daunting. At 24, the thought of nearing 30 is a bit unsettling. However, I recognize that my academic journey is far from over.

After completing my current program, my goal is to return to my alma mater to pursue a master's degree in Creative Writing. I believe that by then, I will be ready to tackle this new challenge, even if it means enduring another 2–3 years of intense mental effort.

My aspiration is to become an exceptional horror writer. I envision captivating readers with my stories, aiming to publish short story collections, novels, comics, and more. I've been inspired by my professors, who shared their unique paths to becoming accomplished writers and educators.

Ultimately, my dream is straightforward: I want to sustain myself through my horror writing, whether via Medium, blogs, books, or freelance projects. I yearn to travel the world, gathering inspiration for my tales of terror. Exploring different cultures and their horror literature excites me, as I love immersing myself in all forms of horror narratives.

I long to venture everywhere, just like the astronaut in the image I chose for this piece. Instead of exploring the cosmos, I wish to traverse the Earth, seeking fresh ideas that will ignite my imagination.

Imagine ideas drilling into my mind, churning with creativity.

Perhaps that imagery is a bit intense.

What can I say? My passion for horror runs deep, like a love affair that leaves me exhilarated yet haunted...

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts!
