# Healthier Developer: 3 Changes for a Better Routine
Written on
Chapter 1: Embracing Health as a Developer
As a dedicated programmer, I often find myself juggling numerous tasks. While my passion for coding opens up exciting avenues, it also brings the challenge of maintaining a healthy lifestyle amidst a hectic schedule. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, especially when working the typical 9-to-5 can lead to burnout. However, neglecting my health is simply not an option.
Recognizing this, I've decided to implement three key changes in my daily routine to prioritize my well-being. After all, our health is the most valuable asset we possess.
Section 1.1: The Power of Saying "No"
Balancing a busy life often leads to unhealthy habits, especially when it comes to meal choices. The convenience of ordering fast food has become all too tempting; who wouldn’t enjoy having a meal delivered with just a click? Unfortunately, this convenience can quickly spiral into a reliance on junk food.
To combat this, I’m committing to saying "NO" to unhealthy options. Instead, I plan to prepare nutritious meals at home. While it may seem daunting and time-consuming, I’m eager to explore quicker and healthier cooking methods. I recently came across a YouTube video demonstrating how to whip up a salad in just 15 minutes. While I won’t solely rely on salads, I intend to discover a variety of healthy recipes that can be made quickly.
Moreover, I will seek a reliable health food delivery service for those days when I’m pressed for time but still want to eat well.

Section 1.2: Maximizing Gym Time
In addition to revamping my diet, I plan to optimize my time at the gym. When I go for my morning workouts, I’ll avoid socializing excessively and instead focus on incorporating new exercises into my routine.
It's crucial to maintain proper form and build a strong mind-muscle connection while exercising. My goal is to increase calorie burn and align my diet with my fitness objectives. I’m dedicated to executing each workout set with intention and intensity. To aid in this, I’ve saved various YouTube videos that demonstrate the correct techniques for each exercise.
For those who struggle to find time for the gym, I recommend trying quick, effective home workouts, such as jumping rope.
Chapter 2: Avoiding Toxic Influences
Toxicity—whether from habits or people—can severely impact your health. It’s essential to recognize and eliminate harmful habits promptly. Similarly, if you encounter individuals who drain your energy or provoke negativity, it’s best to distance yourself from them.
I’ve noticed that certain people seem to thrive on eliciting reactions, but I’ve learned to ignore them. If a conversation leaves you feeling angry or upset, it’s wise to steer clear of that person. You don’t need to expend your energy on those who bring negativity into your life.
In essence, prioritizing your mood and well-being is essential. Surrounding yourself with positivity and avoiding toxic influences can significantly enhance your overall health.
These are the three changes I’m excited to implement in my schedule to lead a healthier lifestyle as a developer. I hope my experiences resonate with you and encourage you to take your health seriously.
