Embracing Daily Writing on Medium: Lessons Learned
Written on
Chapter 1: The Journey of Self-Discovery
In my ongoing quest for courage, I've often found myself reflecting on the concept of "showing up" for oneself. Is it acceptable to voice this desire? Two pivotal questions have propelled my thoughts: What does it mean to exist in this vast universe? And what does it truly mean to be human? These inquiries may seem grandiose, yet they have fundamentally reshaped my perception of life and my writing journey.
> These thoughts have been profound for me, as if echoing the inquiries posed by Dr. Cornell West: "What are you doing to die daily?" This isn't about physical death, but rather a metaphorical death—a transformation of the mind and spirit that prompts rebirth in how we perceive ourselves and our place in the world.
Through this lens, I’ve become increasingly aware of how I present myself and engage with others. Writing has been a transformative force in my life. It wasn't a conscious choice; instead, it chose me. My journey began with journaling, a practice my mother encouraged during my childhood, and later evolved into poetry during my middle school years.
Section 1.1: Insights from Medium
After years of fluctuating involvement with Medium, I’ve come to a critical realization: How do I wish to present myself to the world? It’s become evident that authenticity can be a formidable challenge. As William Butler Yeats famously noted, "It takes more courage to explore the dark recesses of your own soul than it does for a soldier to fight on the battlefield."
Writing on Medium offers a courageous platform for vulnerability and truth. It invites us to not only question others but, more significantly, ourselves.
Subsection 1.1.1: Celebrating Intentionality
Section 1.2: The Value of Attention
In my endeavor to celebrate the importance of mindfulness in a world that increasingly lacks intention, I’ve chosen to express my thoughts through Phone Notes. This approach serves as a personal exploration, yet I hope it prompts you to reflect on your own questions and ideas.
If this resonates with you, consider following this publication. I would love to hear your insights!
Chapter 2: Learning Through Video
In addition to my writing experiences, I've found valuable lessons in online content. For instance, the video titled "How to Write a Story on Medium | Learn from a Medium Writer" provides essential insights into crafting compelling narratives.
Moreover, the "365 Day Medium Writing Challenge: How to conquer a daily writing habit" video offers practical strategies to foster a consistent writing practice.
Thank you for taking the time to engage with my reflections!
